Bad news - baby may have chicken pox. Sigh.

67 days and ??lbs to go
Good news, hopped on the new bike today and biked to Wheaton! (Where I indulged in tasty pupusas which may neutralize the benefit of that...)

68 days and ?? lbs to go
The storied best of times, worst of times moment....
Let's quickly get past the worst of times. Trying on dresses, totally got stuck in a dress. Ugh. Painful, humiliating, had to cut myself out. Awful, awful, awful.
On to the best of times...
Forgot to mention one of my colleagues who hadn't seen me in a while commented about how much weight I'd lost. Woohoo!!
Also, Lou told me I looked fantastic in my dress for the wedding, which is all form fitting, etc.
Also great progress in the exercise arena. Bought a bike today!! Oh boy!! So excited by it. Too bad it's going to rain from now until eternity...
While Sandra's been gone, found another trainer I also like - guy named Steve. So I've been keeping up with the training. And today, believe it or not, I went to the gym on my own, no training appt at all. Yay for me!

73 days and 25 lbs to go
Finally, the scale is heading in the right direction!!
Woo-hoo!!
The downside is I still can't fit into any of the wedding dress possibilities. And the wedding is now only three weeks away. But maybe I can hit the mid-170's by then.
Dare to dream.
Foot hurts lots. Bummer. But resisted the birthday cake in the work fridge for breakfast, which I think is something to be proud of.

74 days, ?? lbs to go
Happy Mother's Day!!
Forgot to weigh myself this morning, because I woke up feeling like crap.
In better news, did OK on the eating, despite fabulous breakfast prepared by my hubby. Went to the gym, discovered a great new trainer. Went on a short hike. Broken foot kind of throbby, but otherwise OK.
However, I am beginning to despair about fitting into my dress for the wedding. :(

80 days and 31 lbs to go
You know, they say you shouldn't weigh yourself every day, because your weight fluctuates so much on a daily basis.
I am living proof of that. Despite sticking to the diet yesterday, the scale had me up 3 lbs at 187 this morning. Add to that an obnoxious feline wakeup at 5 AM, a baby who slept in and granted me no mommy time this morning, and a husband who launched a major guilt trip into my lap, the day hasn't been off to a roaring start.
Trying to go crutchless today. Hopefully, I'll be able to walk by the end of the day.
Goals for the day?
Drink lots of water. Meet with the trainer this evening (new trainer, mine's on vacation in Sweden). Try not to eat bad food.
Hug the baby boy. Hug the husband.

81 Days and 28 lbs to go
On July 22nd, 2011, I turn 36 years old. By that time, I want to weigh 156 lbs. That would put my BMI square in the middle of normal weight (BMI = 23), as opposed to where it is now: square in the middle of overweight (BMI = 27).
My shorter term goal? Fit into one of several possible dresses for a May 29th wedding. They've very close to zipping up now, so I feel like this might be achievable.
Here are the current challenges:
1) I am sporting a broken foot. Fifth metatarsal, to be exact. Was walking down the stairs with the baby a couple of weeks ago and missed a step. Saved the baby, broke the foot. Makes it a little difficult to hit the treadmill, however...
2) Utter lack of willpower. Yeah, I really like food. And I especially crave really fatty, delicious food. What's more, I am terrible at resisting those urges. So sticking to a reasonable number of calories is going to be a real challenge for me.
3) Mother of a one year old. Anyone who is one or knows one understands the inherent challenge there.
But let's focus on the positive....
What are my motivators?
1) Sheer vanity. We've had all sorts of family photos taken lately, and I hate the way I look in them. Fat face. Fat body. Ick, ick, ick! Although I'm back to my pre-baby weight, I still have a long way to go before I'm back to my desired weight. I want to look good and wear clothes I used to wear. Dammit.
2) That whole squeeze into the dress for the wedding thing.
3) A personal trainer! Yeah, I have one of those. Thank goodness! I only meet with her once a week, but it's better than a poke in the eye!
So where am I today?
Hopped on the scale at 184.4 lbs this morning. Way better than my heaviest during pregnancy weight of ~240 lbs. It took me a year to get back to my pre-baby weight. The question is, can I get back to my wedding weight (or thereabouts) in the next 10 weeks?
So how did I do on my first day? Well, I think I hit about 1100 calories, according to Calorie Count. Which is not too bad.
I have every intention of working on a modified south beachy sort of diet for the next month. Will try to use this blog to keep me honest and write about the foods I want, even as I resist them.
Will weigh in every Monday. Wish me luck.
